Research Services
We design and conduct rigorous clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and health systems evaluations, partnering with institutions, governments, and funders to generate high-quality, internationally publishable evidence. Our team spans epidemiology, obstetrics, neonatal medicine, laboratory science, biostatistics, and data management — enabling us to lead complex, multi-site studies from concept through dissemination.
Consulting & Advisory
We provide expert advisory support to governments, NGOs, international organisations, and health funders on maternal, newborn, and adolescent health strategy, programme design, monitoring and evaluation, and evidence synthesis. Our consulting draws directly on the research evidence our teams generate — so advice is grounded in real-world data from low-resource settings.
Training & Capacity Building
We run workshops, short courses, fellowships, and structured mentorship programmes for researchers, clinicians, postgraduate students, and community health workers. Training is delivered in real research environments — trainees work alongside active studies rather than in simulated classrooms — producing graduates who are practice-ready from day one. Clinical skills short courses are available for health workers at all levels.
Laboratory Services
We provide research-level laboratory services in support of clinical and epidemiological studies, including microbiological analysis, haematology, molecular diagnostics, and sample processing and storage. Our laboratory is designed for the operational demands of field research in eastern Uganda, with quality assurance systems aligned to international research standards.
Innovation & Incubation
We identify high-potential health innovations emerging from the region's health challenges and support their development, testing, and scaling. This includes technological solutions — digital health tools and AI-driven diagnostics — as well as social innovations that reimagine how care is organised and delivered in resource-limited settings.
Knowledge & Commercialisation
We publish research, host seminars, and produce educational materials that move evidence into practice — and we support the journey from research finding to real-world product, partnering with industry and investors to scale proven health innovations into market-ready solutions for communities across Africa.
